I Lurrrvvveee Darren

I mean it was such a fun night. We had Tony Romas shrimps and the onion loaf for dinner and went to see Darren scratching after that. ok ok full story then..

so yeah we go to our fave haunt for free drinks where they make the best pink ladies (of cos depends on the waiter also la), so that day, it just so happened that our fave waiter wasnt there. so we said hi to darren (the dj) who was at the console at that point and ordered our pink ladies from one of the waiters. and when the drinks came, they were a faaaaaaarrrr cry to what our fave waiter always treated us too - i mean it felt like there was NO ALCOHOL in it at all. so at first we were like "nvm la, we wont get too tipsy" but memang tak syok la.

so anyways we finished our drinks and got another round of pink ladies. and guess what? no alcohol AGAIN! so patience is a virtue right? so we sit thru and finish the second glass, tasted like guava juice or somthing and ABSOLUTELY no effect. then we call the waiter and order another round (the 3rd) and tell him specifically to add some booze in the juices :p ok oops but sounds vulgar.. anyways..

by this time, darren came and sat with us cos the band started playing again (the band just shouts too much - wonder how they have their voices still) and we told him that the pink ladies were NOT like the ones we were used to. and he tells us that our fave waiter is on leave.. sigh..
so then when we're talking to him, the waiter comes with our drinks. and guess what? they're not pink! they're brown. no dont ask. anyway we try it, and it wasnt too bad. it tasted EXACTLY like chocolate milkshake. and if you tried REALLY hard, you can prob make out the tinge of baileys in it.

so altho it wasnt THAT bad, again - NO ALCOHOL. now tell me, whats the point of having drinks when u might as well sit at the local mamak and have milo ais? ha?

so since darren was there with us, we told him la, that from the time we came, the drinks were what you would call in TGIF - virgin - like unadulated (correct word? or is it unadulterated? pure) untouched by alcohol. so then darren called the waiter over and when he came, he was like "kau kau kau kau kau".. and when we got our drinks back, the portion of alcohol was ridiculous. i mean, this was like get-stoned-after-a-sip kinda ridiculous.

so yeah. Tres loved it (if she says she didnt, she's in denial). but thing is when we mixed it with the pink ladies, it was NICE. the kind of nice you get from drinking and not realising you're drinking! but yeah..

then since we're the last ones leaving at the end, darren actually shows us how to scratch on his turntables and it was UBER COOL. so yeah, was a good way to spend a thursday night :-) or friday morning, whichever way you look at it.

and of COURSE i went to work the next day. i mean, i'm responsible :p
