the spider story..

went to the klcc park the other day and was just sitting down when one of them spiders started making its web on/around me.. hmmm.. must be male ;-) neways, so i felt something running on my back and when i put my hand on the spot, there's nothing there. so i thought its just me la, a prickling sensation or something.. happens a few times and everytime i put my hand at the spot, there's nothing.

then genius struck and i thought "mmm, must be a spider".. so i look behind me and true enough, there's this funny looking spider looking back at me. so i blew him away (him because it must be male rmbr).. after a few seconds of peace, he's back again, so i blow him away again and this goes on forever. so i get fed-up and i put out my hand and he climbs on. then i start playing with him like, getting him to climb on one hand after the other, cant describe actually..

neways, get tired after a while, so blow him out of my hand and onto the ground with the hopes of him leaving me in peace. and he doesnt! he starts climbing up the bench towards me, so i keep blowing him down every 2 mins or so. so he disappears after a while and i leave in a bit. walking back to klcc, feel something running across my back again and guess what? ITS HIM!! so i finally get him off and put him on one of the trees.. may he have a good life ;-)

scanned the papers the other day and realised that tv3 (or is it 8tv?) has started showing gilmore girls again. i mean, its been like absolutely ages! and all of a sudden, i dont know the middle cos rory is somewhere and she and lorelai are not as close anymore and richard and emily have separated and dean and rory are in bed and jess is missing and lorelai and luke are making out and... oh my gawd, i've missed soooo much. must rmbr to watch this every week.

finished my econs asgmnt finally and there's nothing more except logistics and thats group work so not so bad ler.. csr budget also done. n-day celeb over.. been a really hectic week actually, thank god its almost over..

oh yeah, watched fear factor reality the other day and they had the coolest stunt - driving around in real cars and crashing into all the others and the last one standing is the winner. damn cool.. a bit like bumper cars, but way above that league la..

watched monster house, good story line - something with a difference. but my fave is still monsters inc. swimming's been great too, time is improving bit by bit. like no sweat doing laps - 1 km in 45 mins..

had a 10 hour snooze last night and it feels like i can take on the world. i love voyage 1 and 2, esp 1 - its soothing, great for easy listening and its a fusion of world music and instrumental stuff.. really need to get a cd player into gorgeous ;-)

lastly - weekly shoutouts: tres - hows germany? crossed over to london yet? maequan - havent heard from you in absolutely ages; arvinth - get a life, better yet, start your own blog; lora - hope your interview goes well; lesli - good luck in your new job. oh btw, do you have edwin's email, i lost it. and hi to everyone else who's actually following this page.. ;-).. heheheheh..

til the next blog, cya people..

birthdays in europe..

oh my god tres, just realised that i was in europe for your birthday and you'll be in europe for mine.. sheeshh.. just get me something nice ok. like those patterned panty hose i love, its sooo sexy and you cant get it here, (but i bet many ppl beg to differ, oh well, to each his/her own). can get them in marks and spencers for abt 6 pounds i think. or a good pair of boots from clarks, esp when they have the warehouse sale - go find out when. can get a decent pair for 25 or thereabouts.. oh yeah, and bring my bag back in one piece, i'll be needing it soon.

that aside, where in the world are you? enjoying yourself so far? cheers babe, have fun ;-)

neways.. details abt my mundane life:

1. futsal: fun

2. work: ok, but screwed up BIG time today, i am SOOOO in deep shit (like the bombs already blown and there are shrapnels everywhere, and you're waiting for the other bombs, while waiting, you try to gather the pieces of your life back and try to go back to normalcy, but you cant fully do that cos you just know there's gonna be another bomb, like repercussions..) (or like an earthquake when you know it 12.5 on the richter scale, but you also know there are gonna be aftershocks, just dont know if they'll be 5.6 or 18.9)..

3. proofreading on marketing strategies in comparison with siemens and ibm: interesting and made $500, but cant spend it cos its going towards my spain fund

4. gorgeous is fine, thks for asking

5. so is gremlin, usdollar, euro and pound sterling ;-)

6. watched mistress of spices on the big screen: really nice but prob wouldnt be everyone's cup of tea; i loved it tho, even enjoyed the book and the movie was an almost exact adaptation; was more like an international screen movie..

7. maritime law and market econs finished, only economincs to go and thats only due next wk, so procastinate ler..

8. paws on sat: miss the doggies, there were so many new ones, didnt go into the cat cage tho, would prob start of my allergy.. took some canines for walks and there was a visit from some school, so taught them how to walk dogs and stuff.. quite fun.

9. claims not done.. and to think i wanted to go watch garfield or monster house today.. hmmm.. priorities.. priorities.. all wrong..

spoke to lilian the other day and had so much fun reminiscing, almost brought tears to my eyes thinking of the old days.. the cat, the piano, and i think you were also there when kenny brought the table and started assembling it outside and you noticed his socks which had individual toes.. ;-) amazing that you even rmbr not only gremlin but the new kittens as well.. hope august is fine now.. ;-) thks lilian.. lemme know when you're back and can catch up or something..

wanted to write about the phrase "to each his own". dont think we can justify why other people are so different from us, but at the same time, everyone is a free person and we should respect his decision. (btw, everytime i use "his", its just for convenience - just insert oblique (/her). funny how we tend to think of others as freaks just cos they are different. but we dont realise that everyone is entitled to his preferences and just beacuse they dont match up with ours doesnt mean its wrong or weird. (could always think of weird as unique i suppose). as long as what we do is not getting into other people's faces, we should be alright.

trigger: went to bangsar alone the other night. sole purpose of going was to have 2 drinks, relax and get out. went in my futsal clothes cos too malas to go home and change (would've prob got into bed with my pyjamas straight if i did). neways, went and had 2 drinks, made friends with the bartender and got to taste some funny concoction he was making (in front of me, so i know he's not putting in anything he shouldnt), and got chatted up by a girl ;-) who was into extreme sports like paragliding and rockclimbing.. she even gave me her number.. for the record, I'M STRAIGHT, i swear..

neways, told some people abt this "episode" and the only things i heard were "you have no life", you're sad" "why dont you have any friends", and a few others along those lines.. why is it that you become sad and weird just cos you enjoy your own company? i love me. i love being alone, i enjoy my solitude.. but people dont understand that just cos they cant appreciate solitude. but even if you cant, you let them be, dont diss them, cos they're not getting into your face. just cos they're not like you doesnt give you the license to mock them; it doesnt mean they're not happy doing what they want. everyone's happy doing different stuff.. oh well, i'm trying to say this and so much more but i just end up ranting..

even the ad in the cinema shows that there is no world without friends.. says who?

exhale.... again... mm, better.

so my friend in spain just replied my email saying i was welcome at his place.. thats the south, near malaga and ALR, so i could go to morocco as well and maybe even portugal.. ;-) def needs some planning la.. that reminds me - need to plan for hong kong as well..

told myself i'm staying back in the office today to finish my claims so better get on to that before admin comes after me. oh, and need to put up those pfizer posters as well.. ciao.

the mud is my friend..

no, i am NOT kidding.. and i mean it in the truest sense of the sentence (or phrase).. well, for the uninitiated, i mean hiking up Gunung Irau in CH. But let me start from Friday night.. (no, wasnt the 13th, but that would make it more interesting..) anyways..

So we left the office at abt 6+ and stopped for an early dinner at some kfc off sungai buloh. then went on our way, supposedly a convoy but you know lah kan how convoys work when there are 9 cars in all.. took the simpang pulai route and it was almost pitch black if not for the headligths. at one point we were passing a shack or kind of pondok and the first thought that came to mind was that the pondok was missing a lady with long hair clothed in white and carrying a child.. seriously.. it was like the pondok was actually missing this aspect.. oh well, must be my overactive imagination.. ;-)

the worst part was that since we were in a convoy all the way uphill, we were trying to keep up and the petrol gauge just kept dipping and nobody realised til it was almost empty! that was pretty scary cos just imagine being stuck alone in a car in the middle of nowhere with no petrol station around.. first thing - switch off the air-cond, dont accelerate and keep the rpm steady. but there was somebody watching over as always :-) and we reached a petrol station in time.. whew..

so neways, got there.. the lodge was pretty much fucked up (oh mayb there's a nicer way of putting it but what the hell).. and had to wake the next morning at 6 for breakfast so that we could begin the trek early. breakfast was screwed up too - milo (i think, cos i took hot water instead - when in doubt, take water), pale sausages (didnt hv any), banana cake (2 slices), sandwiches (looked yucky), and goodness knows what else (frankly i dont care to remember). was then given hiking food for the whole trip - muesli bars (yaay), cloud 9 (didnt even know that still existed), an apple (prob to keep the doctor away in case of any injuries), some sweets, oreos, chipsmores, julies, raisins, etc. supposedly hiking food which you cant take on an empty stomach.. yeah right, i can swear on muesli bars, i mean, i hv 2 in my car, 1 in my handbag and a few somewhere else at this very moment, so who are u kidding?

so we get to the starting point and everyone's in layers of clothes including cardigans, windbreakers, etc., claiming its windy la, its cold la, they're sleepy la.. haiyoooo.. anyway, yours truly was only in a t-shirt and i actually felt nice.. like it was cool and a bit chilly but not cold that you're shivering.. but i bet everyone else begs to differ and this is camerons we are talking about! oh well..

so we start the hike and its actually ok first. very muddy trail (and i havent even washed my nikes yet), but you soon get used to it - as the title says, the mud is your friend.. so we go up, after a 3 hour climb, we reach the mini peak which is 1 our before the actual peak. rest there for a while and almost dont wanna climb up to the top but went up anyway. got to the peak at abt 12.30 (started the climb at 8), and rested there for a while. totally viewless but the last one hour of the climb was good cos the forest looked like something out of lord of the rings.. almost felt like a hobbit..

so then started the descent at abt 1.15 or so and this is the BEST part. there were a few groups descending and we were bringing up the first group. but i was a bit slow (better safe than sorry lah kan), so the 4 of us (Adam, Ken and Eugene) got left behind. and this is without the guide and the fact that we hv absolutely no idea where the trail is! but thank goodness eugene was in our group (this guy's from palapes, need i say more?) and he brought us back to the trail. but we followed a different trail and instead of descending, this route actually took us UP for abt half an hour. very stressful and was almost giving up at a few points. almost delirious. started saving water in case we got lost.

but as a side point, getting lost would actually be a good experience. with a windbreaker, a raincoat, water, food and a torchlight of course. whats the worse that can happen? hyporthemia mayb but thats it la.

anyways.. squelched mud everywhere and after a while you realise that the tree branches and roots you usually step on are slippery and thats when the mud becomes your friend. squelch.. ;-)

and the most welcoming sound when you in this situation is the sound of car engines cos you know you're close to ending this nightmare. but it was a good experience. tho i wouldnt do it again. kinabalu mayb, but def not an 8 hr trek where there's nothing to see at the top. my whole body's ravaged, but i'm playing futsal tmrw (oh shit, hv to wash my shoes and hope they dry on time)..

Shoutouts from the bottom of my heart: Eugene (thank you for EVERYTHING, for carrying my backpack halfway, for helping me through those nasty rocks, for running up front to check the trail.. in fact, too numerous to mention), Ken (thanks for your never ending "one more step, its easier after this", hope you get your 6-pack back SOMEDAY ;-) and sorry i killed the spider, didnt mean to), Adam (thank you for your Excel and your commando-style instructions "go Kay go" til you made me laugh and Ken asked you to stop saying that, cos laughter would sap my energy).. wouldnt have made it back without you guys.. i mean, would have la finally, but thks anyway, you're a great bunch ;-) P/S: we'll just stick to futsal after this, yah!

More shoutouts: Shi Mien, thks for your glove. Nick, appreciate the safe drive to and fro (see you at futsal tmrw as well), Nell, some good dancing there ;-), and hi to everybody else who i'm too lazy to mention cos i wanna go home ;-)

I'm gonna miss her..

for 2 whole months.. darn..
and there was a freaking mes
s the past 2 or 3 days cos of my DG shipment. was some acrylic acid being shipped and was supposed to go from kuantan to tanjung pelepas to colombo to india. thing is, with dg cargo, you'd have to get approval from ALL ports before its even loaded at the origin. so i've got confirmation from all ports except colombo, so pending that, i DONT send out a booking confirmation to the shipper.. HOWEVER, it gets loaded.. god knows how. so i spent most of the day chaising colombo to give me an approval since its already shipped. email after email reminder doesnt work and i finally call colombo and talk to them for 15 mins before everythings ok.. hv to still monitor the shipment and send out the booking confirmation tmrw.. oh well, shit happens..

hv to go pack for hiking. no hiking shoes so there go my nikes.. and left my sleeping bag at home so cant sleep under the stars either.. darn. finally finished liner trade, now have to start on law and join ME a little.. sigh..

tired tired tired tired..
