My Own Words!

I'm a writer so I think I'm entitles to create my own words now and then. Well, not so much my own words but more the grammartisation of already exisitng words.

1. Onned and Offed
- The past tense of 'on' and 'off'. Usage:
a) Who onned the switch?
b) Who offed the fan and light?

2. Paining (my fave)
- Present continuous of 'pain'. Usage:
a) My stomach paining la.
b) Is your leg paining?

3. Downer and Downer
- Present continuous of 'down'. Usage:
a) Why are they going downer and downer (think Titanic when Jack and Rose run down the steps when Rose's husband tries to shoot them)

Cool. I will add more as and when they slip out of my mouth. Oh, and I also offer proofreading services! Ah-ha.

Yes, I took a quiz...

... and the results are:

You are looking for Mr. Right; you want the One. You want someone to marry and have kids with and have moonlit dinners and perfect dates. You won't find him until you stop looking. See, when you like someone, you like only him. No guy in this world stands a chance; you fall head over heels, and when your heart gets broken, you're down for days. Try someone totally unexpected; try looking away from your dazzling fantasies about how perfect life will be. Right now, you're too picky, and you're overlooking lots of other guys who like you. And trust me; they like you. You're someone they can really talk to, and you could so have a boyfriend if you gave those others a chance. Go for it!

The only reason I'm posting it up here is so I can come back and visit it if I need my head done in sometimes. So I need to STOP LOOKING. And I also need to stop being SO PICKY. And stop OVERLOOKING other guys and give them a chance.

Okay, easier said than done :p

The Ambulance

This ambulance is making me quite irritated on my morning drive to work. Now what would you expect an ambulance to do? Carry injured people right? And rush off to the nearest hospital. If it wasnt carrying any injured people, or if it wasnt rushing to an injured person, is there any need for it to careen down the highway?

ABSOLUTELY NOT.

Well, listen to this - I hv now had about 3 or 4 encounters with (I think) the same ambulance.
Somewhere between Seremban and Nilai, it looms up, on the extreme right lane going at about 120 kmph. Its got no sirens but its hazard lights are flashing. [GROUCH 1] And it's slow! If you had a life or death situation inside, dont u think the ambulance would go much much faster? Exactly. And it doesnt even have sirens, so in all probability, its got no patients inside.

Driving on the highway in the morning means almost everyone (well ok 20% of the cars) are going way higher than the speed limit of 110 kmph. I am in that 20% or I would be late to work every single morning!

So all of us end up overtaking this stupid ambulance and after a while it vanishes in the rear view mirror. [GROUCH 2] We all have to overtake it on the left as it refuses to move to another lane even though its holding up traffic.

Anyway, done right? Wrong.

A few minutes later, the Sungai Besi toll looms up, jammed as usual. [GROUCH 3] And THEN the ambulance starts flashing its light and honking just so it gets to the front of the queue and all the other cars give way! Thats NOT FAIR. Even better, today there was a traffic police at the toll booth, and he started waving all the cars out of the way to give this stupid ambulance the right of way! [GROUCH 4] And the bloody ambulance didnt even have to pay toll!

AAARRRGGGHHHHH..

Ok now lets look at this objectively.

An ambulance doesnt have to pay the toll - fair enough. As an emergency vehicle, its got perks. But if its not in any emergency, it should not only block the right lane, but also shouldnt be switching on its siren only when it reaches the toll.

And it sure as hell shouldnt abuse its advantage!
